Various Processes Can Be Used For Blast Furnace Slag

Oct 17, 2023

Blast furnace slag can be processed into valuable materials with multiple uses through various processes. Processed into slag crushed stone, it can replace natural sand and gravel as aggregates for concrete, reinforced concrete, and pre-stressed reinforced concrete below grade 500. It is also a heat-resistant concrete aggregate with a working temperature below 700 ℃. It is required to be used as auxiliary materials for wear-resistant and anti slip highways, racing tracks, airplane runways, railway ballast, filling materials for foundation and cushion layers, and sewage treatment media. After quenching with a large amount of water, blast furnace slag can be made into fine-grained water slag mainly containing glass body, which has potential hydraulic cementitious properties. Under the action of activators such as cement clinker, lime, gypsum, etc., it shows hydraulic cementitious properties and is a high-quality cement raw material. 70% to 80% of the cement produced in our country is mixed with different amounts of water slag. Water slag can also be used as insulation material, wet rolled and wet ground slag, fine aggregate for concrete and road engineering; Soil improvement materials, etc.
