Coking coal, also known as metallurgical coal or main coking coal. It is a type of bituminous coal with medium to low volatile matter and strong caking properties. Coking coal is referred to as bituminous coal with high coalification degree and good coking properties in the Chinese national coal classification standard.
Features
Black, glassy luster, shell like or flat fracture, dense and brittle. Stripes are gray black, containing 80% to 85% carbon and 4% to 5% hydrogen. Oxygen content ranges from 5% to 10%. Calorific value ranges from 8000 to 8500% Kcal/Kg. The volatile matter is about 14% to 30%, and the thickness of the glial layer is about 8-25mm.
Usage
Coking coal is mainly used for blast furnace ironmaking and blast furnace smelting of non-ferrous metals such as copper, lead, zinc, titanium, antimony, mercury, etc. It serves as a reducing agent and heating agent.
